Snow!

We got snow!!!! :o)

Waking at 5am this morning was far more of a pleasure than usual when I peered out of the curtains into the darkness and saw...white-ness!

A good inch of snow had fallen overnight, that may not be very much to some of you over the pond but here in Blighty it's pretty reasonable for recent years.

As a consequence of the early hour I got to do something I have until now never managed....I made the very first footprints (save for a fox that had preceded me) and the very first tyre tracks in the pristine new covering. I always wanted to do that!

From there on in things went downhill. The van from hell had of course to be driven in this, a prospect I was not looking forward to greatly knowing as I do that I have to bald rear tyres. As I had anticipated maneuvering this heap of cr*p on the slippery surface became somewhat a battle of wills and a large proportion of my time was spent sliding sideways or going precisely nowhere!

As in all things though there was an up-side. By the time I had completed my round my temper was considerably 'frayed' which resulted in my having the courage to tell my boss, in no uncertain terms, what I thought of the situation. After some 'discussion' he began to see it my way (ok he didn't but I think it likely he knows there aren't many fools like me out there who will tolerate it even short term if I take a hike) and agreed to replace the tyres, fix the lights (most don't work) and repair the severely dented wing! Yayyyyy.

Now....let's just wait and see if he's as good as his word...I won't be holding my breath though.

*The images were taken on my phone during my fight with the van from hell so forgive the quality please!

Hella bad winter here in Seattle too! We've had severe windstorms, rainstorm, and then snow and ice that lasted about ten days. Now it almost seems like Spring, but Mother Nature and the weather service promise more snow to come. Dress warm and stay inside as much as possible.
