Those are the words of a text I just received from Ian, words both he and Lisa, one of my very best friends, have been waiting to to say for over a year now! What does it mean exactly? Well Lisa and Ian have been going through the long and often times difficult and frustrating process of trying to be together when living on separate continents. The upside for me of course was that I got to meet Lisa twice last year after five years of online friendship but there has been some pretty 'un-up' aspects for them trying to navigate the immigration rules and regs.
Much air travel, paperwork and hassle later, this morning Ian, having gone for the final interview stage in the process this morning, has finally been granted permission by the United States embassy to move to America and marry Lisa!!!
Yayyyyyyy!
It's been a long road as they say but at last the very best news!
Congratulations to you both!

Yay! It's still hard to believe that the fiance visa approval is all done. We're just waiting on the actual delivery of the visa and off he goes. I'm so excited, I can't even put it into words. :)
The weirdest part was the total non-event of the consulate officer interview. You're left thinking: "er, shouldn't there be trumpets or a gong or something". I actually had to ask him "does that mean I'm approved then?" To which he said "yes, you're approved".
I'm off to America...yes I am!
Congrats to both!
Congratulations to them! I wonder tho, why would he want to move here to the U.S.? No healthcare, unemployment is at it's highest and taxes are out of hand...
Congratulations to you both, may you have a long and happy marriage xx
Yayyyy!! Cool!
I remember when my mum went through all that... it SUCKS!
but congrats to the couple! :)
congrats to all
Hooray for Lisa and Ian!
That's good news...
My son had similar news this week as his girlfriend in South Africa has just got her visa to come over here - it's taken months!
